While speaking at Wednesday’s Democracy Day dinner in Abuja, Senator Shehu Sani made the statement. The ex-lawmaker from Kaduna claimed in the now-viral video that the ex-governor of Kaduna state was one of those who preserved the spirit of independence.

According to Senator Shehu Sani, I will never forget that he was a voice for us in prison, even though he took me from my seat.
