In an unexpected turn of events, Alikiba, the boss of Kings Music, has extended congratulations to his long-time rival, fellow Tanzanian artiste Naseeb Abdul Juma, better known as Diamond Platnumz.

This gesture has caught many by surprise, given the fierce competition between the two bongo-flava stars.

Alikiba, the founder of Crown Media, took the opportunity to commend Diamond while celebrating the global rise of Tanzanian music.

During a recent interview, Alikiba acknowledged the recognition of Diamond’s latest song, ‘Komasava,’ by American rapper Chris Brown, and congratulated him on this remarkable achievement.

“It’s good to see an artiste like Diamond gaining recognition from international artists. It means they are listening to our music,” Alikiba said during his interview with Crown Media.

He continued, “It also motivates us to see our music crossing borders and being appreciated in different places. They listen to us a lot; it’s just that they haven’t found something as exciting as ‘Komasava’ and other hits.”

Alikiba emphasized that the recognition of Diamond’s song by an international artiste serves as an inspiration for other Bongo artistes. He also admitted his desire for his own music to receive similar acclaim.

“I would also like to see another foreign artiste perform one of my songs. It’s great; we don’t produce cheap or silly things. We create something that everyone can enjoy. Big up, Diamond,” Alikiba added.

This show of support is particularly surprising given the long-standing rivalry between Alikiba and Diamond Platnumz, often considered the biggest in Tanzania’s music industry.

The two stars have had a contentious relationship for years, frequently displaying animosity towards each other.

Last year, Diamond revealed plans to collaborate with Alikiba’s brother, AbduKiba, on a new music project. Diamond made this announcement during the launch of the Wasafi Festival, where he also extended an invitation to Alikiba and his other major rival, Harmonize of Konde Music Worldwide.

“Abdukiba will do a collabo with me on a song. I will be with him at the concert, and if Alikiba’s brother sees fit, he can join us. If he gives us even one show, we will be grateful. Harmonize too. We need to be sensible about these matters and not let personal interests get in the way,” Diamond stated.

In response to Diamond’s invitation, Alikiba indicated that he would not be able to attend the Wasafi Festival due to prior commitments.

“I am busy with my activities,” Alikiba said.

This newfound camaraderie between the two icons of Tanzanian music marks a hopeful chapter for fans, who eagerly await what the future holds for these talented artists.
