Zee5 unveiled Kakuda’s official trailer on 2 July 2024. In the trailer, fans have noted the film taking a humorous jab at other popular horror comedies, Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, by calling contemporary ghosts “boring”.

The story follows newlyweds Sunny and Indira, who move to a small village called Ratodi, determined to stay together despite all odds. The trailer depicts Sunny failing to open the door to his house at 7:15 pm and subsequently suffering the curse of a malevolent ghost. With their newlywed life in jeopardy, the couple seeks help from Victor, an eccentric ghost hunter.

Kakuda meaning

Fans have been curious about the unusual title of the film. In Sanskrit, ‘Kakuda’ refers to the hump on the shoulders of an Indian bull. This aligns with the trailer, where the malevolent ghost is seen punishing the man of the house by afflicting him with a growing hump, leading to his death on the thirteenth day.
