The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stated that his administration is committed to providing and sustaining a holistic environment for religious tolerance and harmony to thrive in the state.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke as a guest at the just-concluded biennial two-day programme of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, titled, ‘…And The Enemies Submitted,’ held on Sunday at the Chosen Revival Ground, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos, said that he recognised the crucial role of the church in connecting with the people.

“The church guides us in prayer and collaborates with us to find solutions to the issues that affect our people. In these uncertain times, my spirit is strengthened by the theme of this crusade, because it assures me that we serve an awesome God who will not fail us, and that the challenges we face in Lagos State and Nigeria would become a thing of the past,” Sanwo-Olu said.

The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Akinmade, reiterated that his administration has maintained a close relationship with the church and other religious organisations to better understand the impact of governance.

Urging the church to continue to pray for his administration, the state and Nigeria as a whole, Sanwo-Olu said: “The peace, tranquility, development and prosperity, which we are experiencing are as a result of your persistent supplication to God for the people and government of this state. Indeed, the prayers of the righteous avail much.”
