Marketers Convene Emergency Meeting to Address Fuel Scarcity

As fuel scarcity persists across Nigeria, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reportedly announced plans for an urgent National Executive Council meeting on Monday to tackle the ongoing crisis.

In an interview with newsmen, IPMAN’s National President, Hammed Fashola, emphasized the necessity of the meeting in light of the persistent fuel scarcity despite recent interventions by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Fashola revealed that the NNPC, the sole importer of petroleum products in the country, had taken proactive steps by opening up its reserves in all existing depots nationwide on Friday to alleviate the long queues at fuel stations.

Additionally, the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria confirmed the receipt of 300 million litres of fuel from eight vessels during the week, which have been distributed to members in Apapa and other locations in Lagos.
