'He may be in top 10, but not for me ': Arturo Vidal writes Real Madrid star OFF Ballon d'Or list

During his recent chat with the YouTube streamer Davoo Xeneize, former Barcelona and Chile international midfielder Arturo Vidal was asked to rate Vinicius Junior's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or this year.

"He may be in the top 10, but not for me, he’s missing a lot. Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, can win it. I like the guy – he scores, he takes the ball, he does it all. I see myself in him.

"For Madrid, he was the best. But he has to play well in the Euros. Otherwise, [if Argentina wins Copa America] Messi could step in."

One might question what more Vinicius could have done to earn a spot in the top 10.

The Brazilian has won three titles and recorded 35 goal contributions in 39 games for Real Madrid, including a crucial goal in the Champions League final. These achievements already make a strong case for the 23-year-old to secure a podium finish, at the very least.
