  • Managing day-to-day accounting transactions. 
  • Monthly/Quarterly preparation of error-free financial reports (Management Account, Statement of Comprehensive Income, Cash flow, and Statement of Financial Position), presentation, and interpretation to Top Management. 
  • Filing of Tax returns at the regulatory bodies. 
  • Preparation and submission of invoices to Clients for services rendered and follow-up on payments. 
  • Salary Payment and controlling income and expenditure. 
  • Prepares and keeps records of assets, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. 
  • Ensures that all expenses are supported by a completed Payment Voucher upon request. 
  • Auditing financial information. 
  • Compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans, and financial statements. 
  • Analysing accounts and business plans. 
  • Financial forecasting and risk analysis. 
  • Tax planning services concerning current legislation. 
  • Recording office expenditures and ensuring those expenses are within the set budget. 
  • Management of the company’s account, JVs, and Subsidiaries accounts. 
  • Payment and filing of Sales Tax (VAT) per expenditure Vouchers for approval. 
  • Processing of other related payments to vendors and contractors. 
  • Liaises with external bodies such as Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS). etc 
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of sound financial control across the company operation. 
  • Oversees Account Payables and Receivables
  • Proper Management of the company cash flow and management of office expenditure and cost control. 
  • Payment of various company utility bills and sundry expenses to the relevant agency at the appropriate time and ensure it is well documented. 
  • Coordination and Monitoring of company budget. 
  • Offer financial advice to the Management on the issue relating to its finances. 
  • Management of Company inventory and stock items. 
  • Follows up on payment of invoices as per agreement with Clients, Contractors, JV Partners, Vendors 
  • Assists with financial and tax audits (provide financial source documents and other relevant information to external Auditor to aid the audit process). 
  • Liaises with Internal and External Auditors for best financial practices for effective and efficient cost control mechanisms.  
  • Supports decision-making via finance metrics. 
  • Carries out other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or any Finance related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage. 
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant work experience as an accountant, more preferably in the oil and gas industry. 
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA).  
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures 
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles. 
  • In-depth understanding of the company’s business. 
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Ability to handle financial information with discretion and confidentiality 
  • Good Management abilities.  
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS is strongly desirable. 
  • Awareness of business trends. 
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. 
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Fresh Books and QuickBooks, SAP, SAGE, etc. 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables are desirable. 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills is a MUST. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suites such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
