Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti agreed with Alaves opposite number Luis Garcia Plaza after beating his side 5-0 on Tuesday.

The visiting manager to the Bernabeu voiced a belief that this is a generational Los Blancos side we are witnessing, and Ancelotti answered "I think so" when pushed to give his thoughts on the remark.

"This squad has a lot of talent, a lot of quality. Yes, I think they can define an era, given the value of the young players in the squad," Ancelotti added.

With a record-extending 36th La Liga title having been wrapped up some time ago, Madrid's latest outing was of little importance other than keeping his men in shape for the Champions League final.

"I'm convinced that we'll be at full strength on June 1," Ancelotti said about the Wembley decider against Borussia Dortmund on that date.

"These games are important to keep the rhythm, the good dynamics, the motivation and the good [style of play]," he stressed.

It is believed that Ancelotti will choose Thibaut Courtois, who has only just returned from injury, as his goalkeeper in London despite stand-in Andriy Lunin playing most of the season and putting on top level displays.

"He’s progressing very well," Ancelotti noted about the Belgian, who got the nod against Alaves.

"We are convinced that on June 1 we will arrive in a good dynamic. It’s important to rest this week and prepare for the final the next two weeks."

A player who has far less chances of running out from the get go in the English capital is Arda Guler.

Once more, however, the Turkey international came off the bench to score and impressed his manager.

"It’s clear that we are very fond of the young players... the squad, the staff... he has a gift for scoring goals, because the ball is in love with Arda Guler," Ancelotti beamed about the teenager.

Clinching the Spanish top flight for the second time in his career, Ancelotti concurred that this is "without a doubt" his best league campaign.

"We have won La Liga with merit. They’ve been waiting for us to slip up and we haven’t. Now we have to keep going," he demanded.
