Northeast Ohio road construction: What changes can drivers expect?

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Drivers in Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties could see some lane closures and detours in the coming weeks as the summer road construction season continues.

Many of the closures will occur overnight, limiting the impact on commuters, according to an updated list of projects from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Cuyahoga County

Harper Road northbound entrance ramp to U.S. 422 westbound will be closed at 8 p.m. July 12 through 6 a.m. July 15. The detour is U.S. 422 eastbound to Ohio 91 to U.S. 422 westbound.

I-90 westbound over East 260th Street will have various lane closures and traffic pattern shifts from 8 p.m. July 12 through 11 a.m. July 14 for bridge repairs.

Ohio 2 westbound ramp to I-90 westbound will have various lane closures and traffic pattern shifts beginning at 8 p.m. July 12 through 11 a.m. Sunday for bridge repairs.

I-480 eastbound to I-71 ramp currently has various off-peak lane closures through mid-July for bridge repairs.

I-480 westbound to Ohio 252 (Great Northern Boulevard) southbound ramp will be closed at 9 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Tuesday for bridge repairs.

Geauga County

Ohio 87 between Ohio 306 and the Cuyahoga County line will have various lane restrictions maintained by flaggers beginning on Monday and continuing through late September for resurfacing.

Ohio 306 under U.S. 422 will be reduced to one lane in each direction weekly between 8 p.m. on Fridays through 8 a.m. on Mondays beginning this Friday and continuing through September.

Burns Road northbound and southbound at U.S. 20 will be closed on Monday through July 22 for pavement work. The detour is Ohio 528 to Hubbard Road.
