It has been claimed that Newcastle United are very confident that they will sign up headline striker Alexander Isak.

It was no secret that the Blues were keen on the man way before he made the move to Newcastle – and with new boss Enzo Maresca keen to add a new striker to that attack – Isak suits the style of the club.

Reports have claimed that Talks have already taken place between the two clubs and the Blues are ready to pay in excess of the £115 million they spent on Moises Caicedo last summer, which will break the Premier League transfer record again.

The 24-year-old’s current deal is set to run until June 2028 following his arrival from Real Sociedad two years ago, but reports on the Football Insider website has claimed that Newcastle are no confident on handing the big man a new deal.

Alan Shearer recently claimed that he is not worried about all the speculation surrounding the big striker – Shearer told Betfair: ‘I’m not that worried about Alexander Isak being linked with other clubs. I don’t think he’ll leave.
