Arsenal are edging closer to their first summer signing of 2024. The Gunners have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori.

The 22-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract at the Emirates and Chelsea, who were also interested in him, are set to miss out on the Italian's services.

Calafiori just finished starring for Italy at Euro 2024 as a centre-back. However, 15 months he played on the left side of defence at Basel. His versatility will be crucial at the Emirates. 

Calafiori will automatically solve the left-back problem and provide cover and competition for Gabriel. We expect him to start at the left next season ahead of Alex Zinchenko.
