Josh Nichols has admitted that he is delighted to have signed up with Arsenal this summer window.

Speaking to Arsenal.com, Josh said: “It’s a dream come true. I’ve been working to get this pro contract ever since I was a little boy, so I’m really glad to sign. I’ve been a fan since I was a little boy and this is my boyhood club.

“Every kid wants to play for the first team, so I can use the coaches to develop myself into a better player and hopefully play for them.

“My parents have been a very big part of my career, taking me to training. They’re there for me.”

One of Josh’s two goals last season came in Europe, away to PSV Eindhoven. “Everyone wants to score goals,” he said. “As a right back, you do score sometimes! It’s something I want to improve.

“I want to get as many minutes as I can for the under-21s and try to break into the first team, and to boost my goals and assists.”

SEB FERDINAND SIGNS UP –

Seb Ferdinand has admitted that Arsenal is the place for him after officially signing up to his first professional deal with the Gunners.

Right winger Sebastian made a total of 18 appearances across the academy last season and was attracting all sorts of interest this summer window after failing to sign his first pro deal with the club.

However – it has now been confirmed that the winger has agreed a new deal with the club – and Ferdinand has opened up and revealed that Arsenal is the place for hi to develop as a player – Speaking to Arsenal.com, Sebastian said: “I’m delighted. It’s a dream that a lot of young boys have, especially growing up around London. Arsenal is the biggest club in London, so it’s a day to celebrate, but not too much because I’m always thinking about what’s next.

“It feels brilliant. Every day we come in, work hard, sacrifice a lot and to finally get rewarded with a professional contract at such a prestigious club, words can’t really describe it.

“Look at what the first team are doing, pushing for titles and in the Champions League. It’s a place where I want to be and develop for the foreseeable future.

“When you see the boys like Bukayo, Reiss, Eddie and Emile in the first team, and Bukayo doing what he’s doing with England, it’s the ultimate motivation and I want that to be me one day.

“My dad has been my coach for as long as I can remember so I thank him for all of the hours that people haven’t seen. My mum of course, and all the coaches at ARSENAL who have really pushed me.”

“I want to bring goals, assists and excitement in front of crowds,” he said. “That’s something I really enjoyed away to Exeter last year. Hopefully I can push for more of those moments and even push for the first team at some point.”

ARSENAL TOLD TO SIGN WATKINS –

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas has told Arsenal to make a move for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins this summer, suggesting that the England man could form a striking partnership with Gabriel Jesus.

ARSENAL are seeking a new forward at the end of the season as there is massive speculation that Mikel Arteta is desperate to add a new striker to that already impressive world class Gunners attack.

Watkins was in fantastic form for Villa this season, breaking the 20 goal barrier in the Premier League and is now rated as one of the best finishers in the Premier League and a man that could lead that Arsenal attack.

And with Arsenal reportedly interested in a move for the Villa man – Gallas has opened up and claimed that Arsenal should make a move for the player – He told Gambling Zone:”I know Arsenal want a striker and they definitely need one as they need something different to Gabriel Jesus.

“I like Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa. I think would be a good profile for ARSENAL, he can stretch defences and offer something different to Gabriel Jesus. I liked the way he performed when he came on for England against Denmark in their last game.

“He’s the kind of player you would want to play up front with someone else. He’s quick, intelligent and a player like him would be good for Arsenal, especially if he plays with someone who can link with him up front.

“Gabriel Jesus was injured last season but you need a striker who can score you 20 plus goals, Watkins did and he might be the player that sees Arsenal over the line for the title next season.”
