N2bn libel suit: Edo PDP Campaign Spokesman, Olu Martins to be served through substituted means

The High Court of Federal Capital Territory sitting in Abuja on Wednesday granted Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa prayers for the spokesman of the Asue Ighodalo campaign organization, Rev. Olu Martins, to be served through substituted means.

Recalled that Idahosa, the All Progressives Congress, APC, deputy governorship candidate for the September 21, 2024 election in Edo State, had filed a N2.15 billion libel suit against Olu Martins, the Deputy Director General, Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship campaign council over defamation of character.

In the suit no: FCT/HC/CV/2259/2024, and the motion dated 08/05/2024, among the applicant prayer is for the defendant tobbe served through substituted means.

The motion was further amplified through a written argument by the counsel to the claimant, I. S Nwachinemere.

The court presided over by Justice U. K Kekemeke granted the applicant to issue and serve the writ of summons and other accompanying processes filed in the suit on the defendant at 49, Airport Road, Benin City, business place of the defendant.

The suit was subsequently adjourned to October 28, 2024 for report of service.
