Will court case stop Amuneke Super Eagles appointment?

The biggest poser today is whether the NFF will finally decide against Emmanuel Amuneke as new Super Eagles coach after it came to light that he is embroiled in a court case that has caused his Lagos house to be seized.

Over the weekend, it emerged that Amuneke is facing a major legal battle that may now have significant adverse effect on his chances to be the next Super Eagles coach.

Both the NFF leadership and the Sports Minister John Enoh, who has been accused by officials of supporting Amuneke to be the new Eagles coach, have already been informed about this development.

Will court case stop Amuneke Super Eagles appointment?

“This is a serious matter and cannot be swept under the carpet,” a source informed SCORENigeria

“Will this case not be a major distraction for him should he now go on to be appointed Super Eagles coach?

“It is now left for the NFF and the Sports Minister to analyse the whole situation and decide on what is best for the national team.”

The Minister is understood to be favourably disposed to Amuneke leading the Super Eagles even if some of his close aides told SCORENigeria this is not the case.

The NFF technical committee, on the other hand, has picked Finidi George as its preferred choice for the top post.

The committee said Finidi will continue with the good work Jose Peseiro has begun with the team.
