Tuttosport: Milan holding out for €12m after positive season on loan for winger

Alexis Saelemaekers spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Bologna and ended up being an important player. However, after the Rossoblu decided not to renew him, AC Milan are now looking for a new club for the winger.

After playing as a right-back during the pre-season, Saelemaekers decided to pack his bags and agreed to join Bologna. Under the guidance of Thiago Motta, he helped the Rossoblu reach the Champions League final and everyone expected him to be redeemed.

However, following Motta’s departure to Juventus and Vincenzo Italiano’s arrival, Bologna opted against triggering the buy-out clause. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Saelemaekers will definitely leave this summer still as Milan are looking for a new destination.

The Rossoneri expect some interest after the Belgian’s positive season and will be holding out for €12m, which would result in a sizeable capital gain. Juventus have even been linked with the player, with Motta pushing for a reunion, so the feeling is that there will be no issues finding a club.

At the age of 25, Saelemaekers will also be eager to continue his development and this won’t be possible at Milan, with Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic ahead on the flanks.
