ALBAWABA - Israeli media have revealed Israel's reaction to discussions after the Israeli team returned from Doha. These developments follow Hamas's response to President Joe Biden's proposal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that Mossad Chief David Barnea returned from Doha following initial discussions with mediators to secure a Gaza truce and inmate release.

Netanyahu's office said an agreement was struck in Doha to resume discussions next week, but major gaps remain.

A senior U.S. official said all players would continue Gaza talks in Doha today. White House and CIA officials arrived in Doha on Friday to arbitrate between Israel and Hamas over the next round of Gaza talks, according to Axios.

Additionally, Israeli security sources said that the army's hostage affairs chief has threatened resignation if Netanyahu obstructs attempts to reach an exchange arrangement with Gaza's resistance.

The latest Hamas answer to mediators, relayed and under discussion since Wednesday, has not been formally publicized by Hamas, Israel, or mediators, although Israeli media sources have leaked Israel's stance on key areas.

Israeli officials told Walla that Mossad Chief Barnea told Doha mediators that Israel would not accept Hamas's request for a written commitment from the US, Egypt, and Qatar regarding second-phase negotiations without time constraints.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to send another Israeli negotiation team to Doha next week, following discussions between Mossad Director David Barnea and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani today in Tel Aviv regarding the prisoner exchange proposal between Tel Aviv and Hamas.

The decision was taken during Barnea and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani's meeting in Doha, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.

Netanyahu has agreed to bring the Israeli team back to Doha the following week to talk about talks with Hamas.

The statement also highlighted the continuing "gaps" in the parties' negotiations.

According to reports in Israeli media, it may take many weeks for the parties to come to a consensus.

The Israeli military commander in charge of missing people and prisons, Nitzan Alon, and director of Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, were not present during Barnea's visit to Doha today.

The Israeli negotiating team received Hamas's answer to the ceasefire offer from mediators in the prisoner swap discussions, according to a written statement released by Mossad on July 3.

Netanyahu had said that Israel has made the decision to send a team to Tel Aviv to negotiate a prisoner swap deal with Hamas.
