Carmel Valley man dead after overturning during crash

California Highway Patrol said a person is dead after their vehicle overturned over a steep embankment on Carmel Valley Road on Saturday. The call was received around 11:27 a.m., and once firefighters accessed the vehicle, they found one person in the car who was dead.CHP says that the male driver of a Toyota Tacoma was going on Carmel Valley Road east of Klondike Road at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, the driver failed to negotiate with the left-hand curve in the roadway, and the vehicle crashed with the guardrail. The Toyota then went over the guardrail and went down the embankment until it stopped on its roof. The victim was identified as Chet Miller, 33, of Carmel Valley, per the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
