The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) recently announced a significant contribution of $150,000 towards the new Fourth Stage of Pregnancy Program aimed at enhancing postpartum health at Morristown Medical Center.

The donation was made possible through the success of the organization's Spring Fundraising event, which took place on May 14, 2024, exceeding its initial pledge. The event, known as the Ode to Color, was held at the Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, NJ, attracting over 230 guests who indulged in a vibrant lunch prepared by Executive Chef Corey Heyer.

Renowned textile designer, author, and inventor Lori Weitzner took center stage at the event, captivating the audience with a sensory-activation presentation showcasing her 10 signature color worlds from her acclaimed book, Ode to Color: The Ten Essential Palettes of Living and Design (Harper Design).

In a statement, Weitzner emphasized the profound impact of color on our emotions and surroundings, noting its ability to influence moods, trigger memories, and reflect personal identities.

Co-chaired by Carolyn Badenhausen and Tina Monaghan, the event included an opportunity to win tableware and décor items from expertly curated table scapes, along with boutique shopping and raffle prizes sponsored by local businesses and supporters. An art gallery displaying vibrant paintings, generously donated by artist Jonathan Talbot and Scott A. Broadfoot, added to the visual splendor of the occasion.

Badenhausen and Monaghan highlighted the collaboration with Weitzner as a unique fusion of design and healthcare, recognizing the impact of one's environment on overall well-being and productivity. Dale Scolnick, the president of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center, expressed pride in supporting the hospital's initiatives to advance women's healthcare in the community.

Dr. Einat Manor, Medical Director of OB/GYN Ambulatory Services at Morristown Medical Center, expressed gratitude for the association's choice to support the Fourth Stage of Pregnancy Program, emphasizing the growing need for postpartum medical assistance. The generous donation will enable the hospital to provide essential services to underprivileged and high-risk women, facilitating a seamless healthcare journey from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond.
