BJP supporting ‘demonic’ values of Ravana: AAP
In an attack on the BJP, the AAP on Tuesday accused the saffron party of supporting “demonic values” of Ravana and its focus on divisive politics.
The controversy erupted following remarks by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who criticised the BJP during a public address on Monday.
Addressing the issue, Kejriwal said: “On Monday, I stated that Ravana came in the form of a golden deer. Following this, the entire BJP is now protesting in front of my house, asking how I insulted Ravana. Why does the BJP have so much affection for Ravana? It reflects their demonic tendencies.”
Kejriwal also issued a warning to the underprivileged communities of Delhi saying, “If these people come to power, they will devour you like demons.”
The remarks prompted further comments from senior AAP leaders, who took to social media. In a post on X, Sisodia accused the BJP of aligning with Ravana’s image to serve its political agenda.
“Arvind Kejriwal made a remark about Ravana during a Jansabha, and the entire BJP immediately jumped to Ravana’s defense as if they were his descendants,” Sisodia wrote.
“Their politics has stooped so low that they are now using symbols like Ravana to justify their false propaganda. I want to tell the people of Delhi to understand their true intentions. After the elections, they will prove to be a greater threat to the poor, laborers and ‘jhuggi’ dwellers than Ravana himself,” said Sisodia.
Sisodia concluded his post with a cautionary note, stating, “It is very important to stay alert because their real agenda is only to grab power. They are conspiring to demolish ‘jhuggis’ and seize public lands. Beware of their false dramas and make the right decision.”
Similarly, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of idolising Ravana.
“I am astonished to see the entire BJP fasting and protesting, claiming that Arvind Kejriwal insulted Ravana. This clearly shows that the BJP considers Ravana its ancestor,” he said.
