A MOTHER has been arrested after being accused of drowning her two daughters in a bathtub on Tuesday night.

Naomi Elkins, 27, was charged with the murders of her 1- and 3-year-old daughters, weapon possession, and more.

Police were called to the home just before 5 pm on Tuesday after it was reported that two children went into cardiac arrest.

After arriving, first responders tried performing lifesaving aid to the two young girls, but were not able to bring them back to resuscitate them.

The 1-year-old infant was also found with stab wounds on her body, according to police.

Investigators believe the youngest child was stabbed before ultimately dying from drowning in the bathtub, according to NBC New York.

More than a dozen officers from both the Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office were present at the scene, blocking off the street.

Elkins is currently being held without bail.
