Nigerians on social media took to lament the recent flooding that rocked Lagos, the commercial capital, in the early hours of Wednesday, July 3.

Heavy downpours led to floods in different parts of Lagos, making it difficult for commuters to move to and from their destinations.

The rains caught many off-guard as they started as early as 5 am, disrupting daily activities and flooding the roads.

With the downpour, workers in the nationโ€™s commercial capital have struggled to get to their various workplaces.

Videos on social media show that the Iyana-Oworo and Olopo Meji areas leading to the Third Mainland Bridge this morning are completely flooded, causing heavy traffic that extends to Alapere.

Also heavily flooded was the Iyana-Oworo-Olopomeji area heading to the Third Mainland Bridge, causing long traffic that extended to Alapere.

The downpour caused a tree to fall around Airport U-turn in Oshodi, and personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) were on hand to clear the fallen tree from the road to facilitate traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Many who defied the rain and left their homes in hopes of getting to their places of work were seen stranded at different bus stops while trying to commute in the city.

Motorists have had to spend hours on the road coming through Alapere to the Third Mainland Bridge.
