Police in Mayuge District in Eastern Uganda are investigating a shooting that left a man and his children dead after gunmen raided Namatale village in the Buwaya sub-county.

Five of the family members are fighting for their lives in hospital after they sustained bullet wounds in the attack whose motive is yet to be established by detectives.

Busoga East Police spokesperson, Ms Diana Nandawula, said the unknown assailants who are still at large shot and killed Isaac Mudasi and his three children under unclear circumstances.
His wife and four other family members were left with bullet wounds.

One of the leads detectives are pursuing is a possible land wrangle in which the family is reportedly embroiled.
