Former US President Donald Trump was seen disparaging President Joe Biden in a leaked video, calling him a “broken-down pile of crap,” and suggesting that his 2024 opponent may soon exit the race. The clip, obtained by the US News portal, Daily Beast, shows the 78-year-old presumptive GOP presidential nominee in a golf cart with his son Barron beside him.
In the video, Trump slammed the 81-year-old Biden and shared his views on the current state of the presidential race. The footage begins with Trump holding a bundle of cash and asking a group off-camera, “How did I do with the debate the other night?”
“We took out that old, broken-down pile of crap,” Trump says to those around his golf cart. Trump proclaims how happy he was with his performance at the Atlanta showdown. He criticised Biden further, stating, “He’s a bad guy. He’s quitting the race, you know — he’s dropping out.” Trump claims, “I got him out — which means we’ll have Kamala.”
"I think she’ll be better," Trump contends before turning his criticism toward the 59-year-old vice president. "She’s terrible," he says. "She’s so pathetic. She’s so f–king bad," Trump was heard saying in the video.
Trump then refocuses on the president, asking, "Can you picture that guy negotiating with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin? And with the president of China — who is a formidable figure. He’s a tough man, very strong," referring to Xi Jinping. "They just said he’s likely stepping down. Just keep knocking him out, right?" Trump remarks before driving away.
Reportedly, several elected Democrats and prominent donors have urged Biden to withdraw from the race, which would likely position Harris as the frontrunner to replace him. Biden is scheduled for his first major interview on Friday with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. Originally planned for Sunday morning, the interview will now be broadcast at 8 pm Friday night.
On Wednesday, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, senior advisers to the Trump campaign, released a statement declaring the “Total Collapse of the Democrat Party.”
"Every Democrat who is calling on Crooked Joe Biden to quit was once a supporter of Biden and his failed policies that led to extreme inflation, an open border, and chaos at home and abroad," they wrote, accusing Democrats, the media, and the “swamp” of having "colluded to hide the truth from the American public — Joe Biden is weak, failed, dishonest, and not fit for the White House."
