Suspected Fraudsters Hack Osun State Governor, Adeleke’s Phone Number

He said the hacked phone number is +2348033657555 and urged the public to disregard any communications originating from it.

Some hackers, suspected to be fraudsters, have gained access to one of the phone numbers linked to the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

This was announced in a press statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s media aide, Olawale Rasheed.

He said the hacked phone number is +2348033657555 and urged the public to disregard any communications originating from it.

He said, “Please disregard any solicitation from +234 803 365 7555. Appropriate action is ongoing to remedy the situation.

“Authorities are currently investigating the breach and are working diligently to secure the governor’s communication lines.

“The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.”

Hacking of mobile phone numbers is one the common cyber crimes Nigerian authorities are constantly trying to curb.

Recently, Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 117 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos.

The suspects were arrested at Regional Hotel, Iyana- Ishasi, Lagos in a sting operation, following verified intelligence about their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

Items recovered from the suspects, at the point of arrest, include mobile phones, laptop computers and four cars.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Footage had also surfaced online showing some EFCC operatives assaulting guests and employees at the Annex and Regional hotels in Isashi, Lagos.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage captured the moment when the operatives forcibly entered a hotel room and physically assaulted a woman, who was wearing a nightgown, slapping her repeatedly.
