Joao Felix of FC Barcelona celebrates scoring his team's third goal during the LaLiga EA Sports match between Real Betis and FC Barcelona at Estadio Benito Villamarin on January 21, 2024 in Seville, Spain.

Many names continue to be highlighted for various reasons at FC Barcelona. No player is safe any longer, and each must fight for their future at the club. However, beyond just that, Barcelona are aware that they will have to make sacrifices in the summer as well.

One name that continues to draw out a lot of different opinions about his future at the club is Joao Felix. The Portuguese star, loaned to Barcelona by Atletico Madrid, has been far from a consistent performer or a player that Xavi Hernandez can regularly trust to put on a show.

However, it can also not be denied that the 24-year-old forward has his moments of brilliance. For this reason, there still exists some debate within Barcelona about the pros and cons of retaining the player beyond this season.

On the other hand, as highlighted by SPORT, it seems that a new avenue may have opened up for Joao Felix. Atletico Madrid, his parent club, is now finally open to the task of bringing Felix back and letting him get integrated into the team again.

Acknowledging that the €60 million that Atletico Madrid are demanding for him may be too much for clubs to consider, especially given his inconsistent form, the side led by Diego Simeone would much rather recall him back to the club rather than let go of him at a price below their valuation.

Moreover, Los Colchoneros are aware that the most likely demand from Barcelona would be to let Felix stay at the club for another season on loan. As of right now, it would be much more preferable for Atletico Madrid to either sell him or retain him, as the longer they prolong his stay, the more there exists a risk of further devaluation.

Instead, despite the fact that Felix celebrated against his team from Madrid when he scored against them with Barcelona, and also that there exists a great deal of hostility towards him both in the locker room and also by the fans of Atletico Madrid, the club is finally willing to let the Barcelona loanee come back into their embrace.
