Daasebere Adusei Peasah IV, the Akyem Tafo Hene, has announced a comprehensive two-week ban on noise-making activities across Akyem Tafo and the Okyeman region.

The ban, effective from Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 6:00 PM until Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 6:30 PM, is aimed at preserving the solemnity and sanctity of an upcoming festival dedicated to reflection, purification, and gratitude towards the gods for a year of blessings and abundant harvest.

All forms of loud music, drumming, and noisy gatherings are strictly prohibited during this period. Daasebere Adusei Peasah IV emphasized that adherence to the ban is mandatory, and violators will face traditional sanctions such as fines, public reprimand, and potential banishment from the community.

“The festival holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for our community,” explained Daasebere Adusei Peasah IV. “It is a time for introspection, unity, and reverence towards our traditions. The ban on noise-making is crucial to ensuring that the festival is observed with the dignity and respect it deserves.”

He urged all residents, particularly the youth, to use the period constructively by engaging in activities that promote cultural heritage and foster communal harmony. “Let us refrain from activities that could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere required for this important celebration,” he added.

The Akyem Tafo Hene concluded by calling upon the entire community to support and uphold the ban, ensuring a successful and spiritually fulfilling festival. “Together, let us celebrate our rich cultural heritage and seek the blessings of our ancestors for continued prosperity,” he urged.

As preparations for the festival continue, residents of Akyem Tafo are expected to comply with the ban on noise-making, contributing to a tranquil environment conducive to reflection and spiritual renewal.
