Douglas Luiz’s horrific performance for Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League prompted Alisha Lehmann to send him a sympathetic message on Instagram.

Aston Villa lost their UEFA Conference League first-leg tie 4-2 to Olympiacos at the Villa Park Stadium.

Douglas Luiz who was in action had a disappointing game, having lost a penalty to reduce the goal tally to 4-3.

In the Women’s Super League, Aston Villa defeated Brighton with a goal from Alisha Lehmann, who scored for the second straight game to grab all three points.

Lehmann politely turned down a fan request for her shirt after earning her 50th cap for her national team.

Lehmann, Douglas’s girlfriend was present in the stand for the Villans for the first-leg tie against Olympiacos, the Greek powerhouses.

A handful of those errors were Luiz’s fault; in the 56th minute, he gave up a penalty for a handball in the box and in the 84th minute, the Brazilian midfielder missed a penalty kick, sending it sailing wide of the post.

Lehmann who watched the event unfold took to social media to show her affection and support for her boyfriend despite those difficulties.
