Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has encouraged youths to lead the campaign to restore social values and moral reforms in homes and communities.

Mrs. Soludo stated this when she received youths from different organizations in Anambra State at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

The youths were drawn from different organizations including Ohaneze Ndigbo, Anambra State Association of Town Unions, National Youth Council of Nigeria and National Youth Service Corps.

Addressing the youths, Mrs. Soludo said that youths can play important roles in making the society better, by leading the fight against drug use, discouraging social vices among children and youths and supporting child upbringing .

She also welcomed the youths’ involvement in her healthy living crusade, underscoring the need to drive the programme beyond the borders of Anambra State and commended the youths for showing support to the crusade and for pushing it in their respective organizations, adding that with youths leading the campaign, the results would be greater.

Mrs. Soludo observed that the whole idea of starting the crusade is to change many unhealthy habits among the people and teach them the techniques of living right in what they eat and how they take care of their body.

In his remark, the President of Youth Wing of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Mr. Ken Okoli, said that the youths were devoting support to the Governor’s wife’s healthy living crusade by opening up a communication platform that shows the uniqueness and relevance of the programme.

He noted that the platform, which would be called “Healthy Living Advocacy Group”, will act as a vehicle of support to the crusade by taking its messages down to schools and communities all over the state, using both digital and traditional platforms.

On his part, the Deputy President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Mr. Innocent Nduanya, observed that among the Governor’s wives in Nigeria, Mrs. Soludo remains the only one with clear and life-changing vision with an impact that will last long.

The National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mr. Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, assured the Governor’s wife of their support to her crusade and encouraged her to continue to push the healthy living vision as it has immense benefits.

Highlight of the meeting was a presentation of an award plaque and certificate as Grand Patroness of Anambra Youths Worldwide to Mrs. Soludo.
