Vizsla Reports Highest-Grade Gold Drilled in Panuco's History

mexicobusiness.news 3 days ago

Canada-based junior company Vizsla Silver announced results from five new drill holes targeting the Copala resource area at its Panuco silver-gold project in Sinaloa, Mexico. These results include the highest-grade gold intercepts ever drilled in the history of Panuco.

The drilling aims to infill near-surface indicated mineral resources (IMR) and has confirmed high-grade continuity throughout Copala, highlighting the richness of the mineralizing hydrothermal system involved in the initial vein formation.

The highlights from the drill results include CS-24-356, which returned 8,817g/t silver equivalent (AgEq) over 4.20m true width (mTW), comprising 1,694g/t silver and 103.20g/t gold including 55,769g/t AgEq over 0.64mTW, including 9,920g/t silver and 663.00g/t gold.

Additionally, CS-24-362 yielded 1,103g/t AgEq over 10.50mTW, consisting of 804g/t silver and 5.27g/t gold, with significant subintervals of 4,881 g/t AgEq over 1.47mTW (3,437g/t silver and 24.87g/t gold) and 1,379g/t AgEq over 0.91mTW (1,145g/t silver and 4.78g/t gold). “The latest results represent some of the highest-grade gold intercepts drilled to date at the Panuco project. Our ongoing infill program at Copala continues to deliver exceptional silver and gold grades over broad widths. Hole CS-24-356 has also expanded high-grade mineralization closer to the surface,” said Michael Konnert, President and CEO, Vizsla Silver, adding that the company will continue to drill to de-risk the project ahead of the maiden Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), expected in 3Q24.

The Copala structure, located in the western portion of the Panuco district, is approximately 800m east of the Napoleon vein. It currently hosts indicated resources of 83.3Moz AgEq at 573g/t AgEq and inferred resources of 48.3Moz AgEq at 476g/t AgEq. These resources are within a broad envelope of vein-breccia interlayered with host rock, up to 82m thick.

Exploration and resource drilling at Copala has traced mineralization along approximately 1,770m of strike length and 400m down dip. The reported infill holes are part of a 10,000m program divided among 35 holes, aimed at converting near-surface Indicated mineral resources in the central portion of Copala into the measured resource category. These five infill holes were drilled at roughly 25m centers from pre-existing holes and have confirmed grade continuity.

Vizsla Silver plans to complete the ongoing 10,000m infill program by mid to late July 2024. Based on the results received, the company is analyzing additional drilling meters to continue upgrading and expanding mineral resources in high-priority areas at Copala.
