Weather Update:  The weather department has forecast heavy rains with thunderstorms over parts of Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh on July 8, coastal areas of Maharashtra, Goa and Coastal Karnataka on July 8 and July 9. There may be isolated, extremely severe showers in these areas.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, the remainder of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep are all expected to see widespread to fairly widespread rainfall and thunderstorms today.

Nationwide Five-Day Forecast

Bikaner, Sikar, Gwalior, Sidhi, Daltonganj, and Contai are still in the path of the monsoon trough, which then continues southeast to the northeastern Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation covers northeastern Assam and its surrounding areas.

Throughout the next several days, Bihar, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are expected to see isolated, extremely heavy rainfall due to the effect of the systems.

South India Weather Update

Along the beaches of north Kerala and south Gujarat, there is still an offshore trough at mean sea level. Another cyclonic circulation is off the coast of south Andhra Pradesh, over the west-central Bay of Bengal. As a result, there is a good chance of isolated, heavy rainfall in the Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa regions.

The southern regions of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra may see varied degrees of precipitation throughout the upcoming days.
