Arsenal went back to the top of the Premier League on Saturday night as the games continue to come thick and fast.

The Gunners bounced back from successive defeats to win at Wolves and attention will now turn to their clash with London rivals Chelsea. The Blues have been well under par this term, but have it in them to cause problems for the title chasers.

Mikel Arteta knows his side can ill-afford to drop points with Manchester City and Liverpool for company at the top. League success is Arsenal's only hope of landing silverware with the north Londoners having the chance to go three clear at the summit on Tuesday night.

Here's the latest from the Emirates.

Jose mocks Arteta tactics

Jose Mourinho has claimed that the defensive tactics employed by Mikel Arteta in the draw with Manchester City are not a "magic strategy" for success.

Arsenal opted for a defensive shape against their Premier League rivals, earning a goalless draw earlier this month. The Gunners had just 28 percent of the possession at the Etihad Stadium. But they successfully restricted City to only one shot on target, which led to many hailing Arteta's tactics. Mourinho though is less sure that the Spaniard deserves all of that credit though.

He said: “In my time, it was not a magic strategy. And I won at Manchester City a few times. But it was not an amazing strategy. It was a defensive game. Park the bus. Park the double bus. It was a different perspective."

Timber makes his mark on return

Jurrien Timber enjoyed a dream return from injury as he scored a stunning goal on his first appearance in eight months. The Dutchman joined Arsenal in the summer in a £38m move from Ajax, but picked up a serious knee injury on his debut and has been sidelined ever since.

He lined up in the backline for the team's U21 outfit as they headed to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers. Timber needed less than 10 minutes to score a stunner as he cut in on the edge of the box before curling an effort into the top corner.

Timber was withdrawn at half-time after a highly entertaining first-half saw four goals scored. Timber had another effort before the interval, but his powerful effort from distance but the ball flew just wide.

Palmer could miss clash

Cole Palmer missed training on Monday and could now miss Chelsea's trip to Arsenal.Palmer has undoubtedly been his side's best player this season and his absence would be a major blow.

The Blues face Arsenal on Tuesday evening and are likely to be without their main man after it was revealed he had been absent from training with an illness. "We will see tomorrow," Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino said when asked about Palmer's chances of playing.

"We will assess him in the morning. Today, no I don't believe he can be involved but we will assess him tomorrow. Even if he is good tomorrow, maybe he's not in a condition to play. Hopefully, he can recover as soon as possible."
