Rivers: ASAF DG declares for LG polls

In a significant development, Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, Director General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Assembly Forum (ASAF), has formally declared his intention to contest the chairmanship of Bonny Local Government in the upcoming local government election. 

This is the Rivers state Independent Electoral Commission announced date for the upcoming local government election in the state

Ambassador Dagogo, who has been in the forefront of the move for the return of a lasting peace in the state for development and a actualisation of dividends of democracy, said he threw himself into the ring for the election after seeing the huge suffering and condition of his people of Bonny local government, adding that he has always prayed for an opportunity to.prove to his people that he has what it takes to bring the desired change in their lives.

The ASAF DG, who could not however confirm the platform under who h he would contest the election, said he has begun the process of consultation among the leading state holders across the various political parties, adding that he has also received several calls from his people, urging him to run in the election.

A former candidate of the APC in the Bonny state constituency election in 2019, Ambassador Fubara Dagogo has held several committee positions for the APC, including membership of the youth wing of the party’s presidential campaign council in 2015 and 2019.

The ASAF Director General who was also an aspirant for National Youth Leader position of the ruling party during the 2018 national convention, de Laredo that “having seen that local government administration is where development of the hinterland begins, I have decided to put myself out for this radius task.

“I have seen the plight of my people and have therefore made myself available to go this road of changing the narrative in Bonny local government area.. We desire a change of attitude and a new order that would accomplish the government moves to drive the needed development and dividends of democracy down to the people,” he said.
