Members of the Osun State Transport Management System (OSTMS) on Wednesday staged a peaceful solidarity rally in Osogbo, Osun state capital, and passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of their chairman, Wakeel  Nurudeen (Alowonle) who was earlier alleged of extortion by the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state.

The members who were led by the union Secretary, Alhaji Mukaila Popoola, described the claim of NURTW members that their chairman, Wakeel Nurudeen (Alowonle) extort money from his members as untrue.

They however charged members of the public to disregard the claim saying, it is far from the truth.

Armed with placards with different inscriptions that read: “allegations of NURTW on our chairman is an handiwork of those who were displeased with the way, NURTW was scrapped in the state and replaced with OSTMS”,  “Our chairman did not extort money from any of his members”,

“We are solidly behind you and there is no cause for alarm”, amongst others, maintained that they would not allow detractors to lie against their boss in a desperate move to get him removed from the office.

Addressing newsmen after the rally, the secretary said, “OSTMS, as a body inaugurated by the government of Asiwaju Dr. Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, remain loyal and committed to the administration and will not allow disgruntled element being used by some political opposition to bring back the dark days of NURTW to Osun.”

“It should be noted that Wasiu Arogundade (A.K.A AROSO), Jelili Moronkade, Nurudeen Sulaimon (A.K.A BIGGIE), Akeem Mustapha (A.K.A ABBEY ASHIPA), have been working with officials of N.U.R.T.W outside the state to create anarchy and keep the O.S.T.M.S disunited in a bid to bring back NURTW, specifically to antagonize the re-election of our performing Governor.”

“These persons in conjunction with hoodlums, including, Oyeyemi Olalekan, (Emir), Olawale Moshood, (Lion) and Alapadupe among others should be arrested by the security operatives to question them for invading our secretariat and stealing within. And also for attempting to kill our Chairman, Wakeel Nurudeen (Alowonle) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.”

“While  we await Police action on the above, we hereby state that Osun Ştate Transport Management System have confidence in the leadership of Wakeel Nurudeen. He is a team leader, calm and resourceful.”

“We also declared our untainted support for the re-election of our Governor, Asiwaju Dr. Senator Ademla Nurudeen Adeleke to continue his good work till
