FIFA RANKING: Super Eagles drop again

thetalk.ng 2024/8/22

The Super Eagles will drop a spot in the FIFA Ranking, when it is released officially Wednesday.

They will now be 39th in the world and fourth in Africa behind Senegal, Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire.

The Super Eagles were not in action during the period in review and that accounted for this slip.

Last month, the team plunged from 30th to 38th places in the FIFA Ranking after indifferent results in 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles forced South Africa to a 1-1 draw in Uyo, before they were shocked 2-1 by Benin in Abidjan.

They are now second bottom in Group C with three points from four matches, four points from front runners Rwanda, South Africa and Benin.
