Uba Sani, Kaduna governor, has announced plans to establish additional inter-state terminals to ease the movement of people and goods in the metropolis.

Sani, who was represented by Hadiza Balarabe, Kaduna deputy governor, announced the initiative during the inauguration of the Mando Interstate Transportation Terminal.

The governor said the terminals will “generate revenue, improve security, and create jobs for the youth”, while highlighting “Kaduna’s strategic position as a transit hub”.

He said the terminal construction is a public-private partnership initiative.

Inuwa Ibrahim, managing director of Kaduna Line, said the state government plans to tackle illegal motor parks over security concerns.

Ibrahim added that centralising the motor parks would help in the “free movement of vehicles, extend the lifespan of metropolitan roads, and beautify the city of Kaduna”.

The Kaduna chapter chairmen of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) expressed their gratitude to the governor for enhancing the operations of their unions.

Ibrahim Mjinyawa, chairman of Sahad Stores, commended the governor’s “pro-business policies”, which he said “encouraged him to expand his business in the state”.
