Acclaimed multidisciplinary industry powerhouse and businesswoman, Relebogile Mabotja, is set to lead the highly anticipated third season of Miss South Africa’s reality TV series, “Crown Chasers” (CC3), as both executive and series producer.

The reality show which follows the journey of contestants vying for the Miss South Africa title, premiered this past Saturday, 29 June 2024, at 8:30 PM on S3.

Mabotja, a creative industry veteran with over two decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to CC3. Her impressive portfolio includes producing the SAFTA award-winning Miss South Africa 2022 live finale.

Mabotja is also well-known for her roles as the afternoon radio host on “702 Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja” and the television host of “Unpacked with Relebogile Mabotja.”

The third season of “Crown Chasers” promises to be the biggest yet, evolving from its digital series roots into a full-format reality TV show. Over six episodes, viewers will witness the Top 30 contestants face challenges and eliminations as they compete for the coveted Miss South Africa crown.

Hosted by reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert, with judges Lerato Kganyago and Leandie Du Randt, the show offers an inside look at the transformational journey of the participants.

Mabotja’s leadership and vision for CC3 are particularly noteworthy. She emphasises the importance of female representation both in front of and behind the camera:

“I think I have always had a personal agenda to ensure my professional spaces allow for more seats at the table for women. There were periods where I didn’t see many that looked like me doing what I do, but my professional journey has had solid women supporting, uplifting and backing me.

It’s an ongoing cycle of learning and leaning. Being one of the few who do what I do is bitter sweet at times because it is long overdue, but provides me with the honour and privilege of sending the elevator down to others. Representation really does matter, and the work is far from being done and far from being over. Best of all, though, is collaborating with women on a project for women!”

Mabotja’s commitment to fostering female talent and leadership in the industry adds a compelling dimension to CC3. Her experience and dedication to representation make her an ideal choice to helm this showcase of South Africa’s most promising young women.

Under Mabotja’s guidance, the show aims to highlight its participants’ personal growth and empowerment while entertaining audiences across the nation.

“Crown Chasers” Season 3 is poised to deliver drama, excitement, and inspiration as it follows the contestants’ journeys toward a role that goes far beyond wearing a crown.
