The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ted King to return to show 1 year later after star’s role on Oscar-winning film
BOLD and the Beautiful star Ted King has announced plans to return to the beloved Soap Opera one year after he stepped away.
The 58-year-old actor took a break from the daytime TV show to film Oppenheimer, which won an Oscar.
Ted will reprise his role as Jack Finnegan, a criminal defense attorney, according to People.
The actor will return to The Bold and the Beautiful in a guest appearance.
The episode will air on Monday, July 1.
In the episode, Jack will have a surprise run-in with his estranged wife, Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda).
Ted first appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful in 2021.
He has appeared in 37 episodes total, according to his IMDb page.
His The Bold and the Beautiful character's last appearance on the show came in June 2023.
Ted has also appeared in General Hospital.
He teased his return to The Bold and the Beautiful on Instagram earlier this month.
On June 14, he snapped a photo of himself in front of signage for The Carol Burnett Show, which was filmed at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, just like The Bold and the Beautiful.
"Love being back in this building where icons have roamed the hallways for years," he captioned the photo.
Ted's return to The Bold and the Beautiful comes amid news that some new stars have been added to the cast.
Crew Morrow, son of Young and the Restless star Joshua Morrow, will make his acting debut on the show, according to Deadline.
The Bold and the Beautiful has been on air since 1987, and has hosted many stars over the course of its long run.

Jim Belushi's daughter, Jamison Belushi, is also joining The Bold and the Beautiful cast.
She will play a lab technician named April in an episode set to air on July 17.
News of their casting comes after it was reported that two major characters on The Young and the Restless would be leaving the series to join The Bold and the Beautiful cast.
Lauralee Bell, who plays Christine "Cricket" Blair, and Michael Damian, who plays Danny Romalotti, are both leaving the series.
Their departures aren't permanent, however.
Lauralee, daughter of series creator William J and Lee Phillip Bell, started playing Christine on the show on July 15, 1983.
She was 15 years old at the time.
She had several recurring stints on the show in 2005 and 2006 before she returned to the show full-time in 2010.
Lauralee has appeared in more than 1,600 episodes and celebrated her 40th anniversary with the show in July 2023.
Her character is a model-turned-lawyer.
Michael, meanwhile, has also been a staple on the show, first appearing in 1981.
After starring on the show until 1998, he later returned for several year-long stints between 2002 and 2004, 2008, 2012 to 2013, and 2022 to 2024.
His character, Danny Romalotti, is a longtime rockstar who just happens to be dating Christine.
Despite the initial disappointment from fans about the actors' departure, most viewers were thrilled to find out that they would only be appearing in two episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful before returning to The Young and the Restless.
The crossover episodes were created by Lauralee's brother, The Bold and the Beautiful executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell.
"We're all so excited," Lauralee told Us Weekly of the crossover.
"What we're doing is so authentic to the story," she continued.
"[Bradley] saw we were doing something on Y&R and he thought this would be great for B&B."
"Of course he would have a concert in L.A. and that's how the idea came about," she added, discussing Michael's character arc on the show.
Michael also expressed his excitement over the new gig, retweeting several media reports about the news.
"Let's get the party started," he wrote on Twitter, adding a dancing man emoji, confetti, and other celebratory icons.
"This is so exciting! I can't wait to watch! I am so thrilled about the crossover! Awesome!" a fan replied.
During the crossover, Christine and Danny "are invited to the Forrester Estate for a party celebrating the success of the relaunch of Brooke Logan's 'Brooke's Bedroom' fashion line... or so they thing," a synopsis reveals.
"Little do Danny and Christine know, Brooke and Ridge have invited them to pitch a new business venture."
"Not to be outdone, Danny decides to give a surprise performance of his own to share with the partygoers."
