Manchester United have welcomed Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford back into first-team training at Carrington.

Our exclusive pics from the club's base show the Argentina international and homegrown forward working with the main group after spells on the sidelines.

Martinez has not played since the 1-1 draw at Brentford in March and has only made 11 appearances all season due to injury.

Rashford was hurt in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley but is closing on a return to action, and a landmark 400th senior outing for his boyhood club.

Manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that Licha's qualities have been missed for much of this term, and the problems at the heart of the defence mean it is particularly good news that the South American is regaining full fitness.

Jonny Evans made his comeback from his own lay-off in the defeat at Crystal Palace, operating alongside Casemiro, who has continued to perform as a stand-in central defender.

Martinez's problem was diagnosed as a calf strain, suffered in training, and his potential return appears to be on schedule.

With title-chasing Arsenal up next at Old Trafford, in Sunday's 16:30 BST kick-off, the boss will address the media on Friday, at 13:30 BST, and is likely to provide a further update on his squad and whether Martinez and Rashford are in contention to feature.

Also spotted in training were youngsters Harry Amass, Louis Jackson, Habeeb Ogunneye, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley, who came off the bench for his second first-team appearance in Monday's clash at Selhurst Park.

The Reds are looking to get back to winning ways with three games to go in the Premier League.
