3 Ways To Tick More Countries Off Your Bucket List

benzinga.com 2 days ago

Traveling over extended periods, and where possible throughout the duration of your life, is a wonderful way to see the world and tick destinations off your bucket list. But not everybody is in a position to do this, and of course, not everyone is fortunate enough to live long, heathy lives that enable them to keep on traveling.

So, for anyone wanting to see the world, but who may not be in a position to plan longer trips, or trips in the foreseeable future, here are 3 great ways to quickly work your way through your travel bucket list of the best countries to visit:

  1. Go cruising

Cruises are without a shadow of a doubt, the most effective way to tick countries off your travel bucket list, in one fell swoop. While cruises are typically associated with the wealthy who can afford more luxurious forms of travel, there are always deals to be had and special offers that make some cruises more affordable.

Choose a cruise that has an itinerary you like the sound of, then simply sit back and watch as the world drifts to your cabin door. With no planning or arranging necessary, and all of your meals accommodated for, you can also benefit from expert guides to show you the highlights of each country, city, and place you visit.

  1. Schedule a layover

If you're planning to go on a long-haul trip, you'll probably have a layover in some country or another, and this can present you with a convenient way to check another country off your bucket list, while on your way to, or from, another one. Longer layovers are ideal, that way you can really explore a place, instead of rushing around for a day, trying to squeeze everything into a tight schedule.

One thing you can do before getting down to the nitty gritty of planning your trip, is to check online to see which airlines fly to countries in which you would like a layover. But be warned, these kind of trips can take a little organizing, particularly when you have to account for time zone differences, so be sure to get your dates and times right!

  1. Plan a road trip

If you choose a destination that makes traveling to different countries by car, motorbike or public transport easy and affordable, such as Europe or Asia, you can tick a few places off in one go. These trips require a longer vacation time if you're to do them properly and enjoy the experience to the fullest, however, although shorter road trips can be a fun, if express way to see different places. Just make sure you leave space in your itinerary for unexpected delays if relying on public transport (such as strikes or bad weather), problems with your vehicle if traveling by car, campervan or motorbike, and anything else that might crop up when moving from a to b frequently.

So, if you want to travel to the most visited country in the world that just happens to be on your bucket list, but would like to see more than one place during the trip, try one (or all) of the tips above.
