Juventus Makes Chiesa Available for Transfer

Juventus have made a surprising decision regarding winger Federico Chiesa.

The Italian international, who was part of Italy's Euro 2024 squad, is now deemed surplus to requirements under new manager Thiago Motta. With his contract expiring in June 2025, Juventus are looking to sell Chiesa this summer to recoup some funds.

Chiesa arrived in Turin in 2020 on a two-year loan deal from Fiorentina for a total of €10 million. The deal included a conditional obligation to buy for €40 million, with an additional €10 million in potential bonuses. Juventus exercised the purchase option, making Chiesa a permanent member of the squad in 2022.

During his time with the "Old Lady," Chiesa has made 131 appearances across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and contributing to two Coppa Italia victories. Despite his impressive contributions, Chiesa's playing style doesn't appear to fit into Motta's tactical plans. This, coupled with his expiring contract, has led Juventus to place him on the transfer market.

Chiesa's availability for a reported €25 million, including add-ons, has come as a shock to many. This is a significant drop from the €100 million price tag that was floated just a few years ago. With his talent and versatility, Chiesa is likely to attract interest from several clubs across Europe.
