NEW DIGGINGS, Wis. — A Platteville man has been sentenced to one year in prison for assaulting a man who stabbed him.

Emil L. Melssen, 46, recently received the sentence in Lafayette County Circuit Court after a jury found him guilty of substantial battery with intent to cause bodily harm and disorderly conduct. He was acquitted of a criminal property damage charge.
