A 47-year-old woman has admitted killing a man in Ilkeston . Regan Martin pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Wayne Sibley part-way through her trial at Derby Crown Court having initially been charged with murder.

The plea was deemed acceptable by the prosecution and Judge Shaun Smith KC said he would sentence her on Friday, July 12.

Officers were called to reports that a man had been seriously assaulted at an address in Stamford Street, Ilkeston, at 4.45pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Mr Sibley, 45, was found with serious injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.

The defendant, of Stamford Street, Ilkeston, was charged with murder on December 21. Judge Smith remanded her into custody until her sentencing date.
