What you need to know about popular Fashion stylist, Teni Oluwo, who died at 35

The sudden death of Teni Oluwo, the Nigerian fashion influencer and stylist fondly called Style Territory, has stirred reactions. Family and friends have taken to social media to mourn her demise.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) understands that Adetoke Oluwo, the stylist’s sister, confirmed her demise in a lengthy post on her Instagram, in which she described Teni as “my pillar of strength” who had positively changed her life.

It is understood that Teni died on June 3, at age 35 — although the cause of death was not revealed.

Who’s Teni Oluwo?

Born in 1989, Teni Oluwo is a Nigerian celebrity stylist, fashion journalist, TV producer, fierce christian and the creative director of Style Territory.

The talented stylist and face behind Style Territory is recognised globally, with her features on international style shows and magazines, including Vogue, Refinery 29, and Man-repeller.

The non-conformist Bowen graduate is known for using vibrant colours in her ensembles. She’s also known for having an unapologetic penchant for all things African, her incredibly grand headgear and it shows in how often she rocks her cultural pieces. 

Throughout her career, the incredibly talented fashion enthusiast stood out in style and caused a buzz with every fashion assignment/ project she took on, turning her clients’ experiences into memorable fashion memories. 

How Nigerians mourn the late fashion icon?

Nigerians who knew the deceased stylist and had worked with her, took to various social media platforms to express grief and shock over her demise.

Amongst which is Kolaoshlusi who wrote, “You were a force, always making a statement. If it is not colourful, bold and hold people’s attention then to you it is not worth it. Teniola oluwo, the life you lived and the impacts of your expression of art showed you were on a mission. Your testimony to a life of faith in Christ Jesus show your inspirattions were divine as we as your messages.

“Thank you for the life you lived and the works you insoired . It’s weird talking about you in the past, but its scary realizing life is fleeting. I known you are in a better place and still existing as a force. I known the heavens are rejoicing for an angel has been won, You have run a good race, inspired a generation fought a good fight.”

Another user, Mollamusik who mourned the late stylist wrote: “I am speechless and devastated about Teni’s death. But i know without a doubt that Teni is in heaven cos she was an angel in human flesh while she was here.”

Akinfaminu wrote: “Incredibly saddened by this news, such a star. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

iamyoursanti wrote: “Omg, this definitely hit hard.”
