A new poll out of Nevada indicates that former President Donald Trump may be the prohibitive favorite in the battleground state after his debate with President Joe Biden last week.

According to a National Public Affairs survey of 817 likely voters conducted between June 28 and July 1, 49% would back Trump if the general election were held today while just 39% would cast their ballot for Trump. Twelve percent of respondents said they were still undecided.

When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other third party candidates were included among the options, Trump’s margin over Biden drops to 9%, and Kennedy gets the support of 12% of the electorate.

Despite Biden’s dismal showing, it appears that voters’ frustrations with him don’t necessarily extend to the rest of his party. The same poll found that incumbent Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) boasts an 8-point lead over Republican challenger Sam Brown.

The results of the National Public Affairs survey track with leaked Democratic internal polling indicating that Trump has established leads in every swing state and even some reach states, such as New Mexico, Virginia, and New Hampshire in the wake of last week’s debate. It also indicated that Trump enjoyed an 8.8% edge over Biden in Nevada.

Biden campaign surrogates have continued to insist that the president will stay in the race in spite of his disastrous debate performance and the panic that has gripped the Democratic Party ever since it. But on Wednesday, The New York Times reported that for the first time Biden was considering stepping aside and said as much to a “key ally.”

Nevertheless, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates strenuously denied the report, calling it “absolutely false.”
