The Bahamas is gearing up to celebrate its 51st Independence with the theme 'One People: United In Love & Service'. The National Independence Secretariat has unveiled the official logo, which blends the number five with the word 'one' symbolizing unity among the Bahamian islands and communities.

Reaffirming Unity and Heritage

The chosen theme aims to encourage Bahamians to reaffirm their commitment to pride, faith, and heritage. It emphasizes the importance of focusing on commonalities that unite rather than differences that divide. The Secretariat highlights the significance of taking pride in one's identity and allowing that pride to inspire service towards creating a better, safer, cleaner, and more prosperous Bahamas.

The Independence celebrations kick off with National Flag Day on Friday, June 28. On this day, Bahamians are encouraged to showcase national pride by wearing the colors aquamarine, gold, and black.

The Secretariat challenges the nation to strive for excellence and unity, emphasizing the values of love and service. The events leading up to Independence Day include National Buy Bahamian Day, Beat Retreat, National Day of Prayer and Reflection, National Day of the Family, National Wellness Day, National Day of Learning, National Culture Day, National Day of Service, and more.
