The Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency has disbursed about N400 million to communities for the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) projects.

This was disclosed by the General Manager of the agency, Chief Momoh Dauda, in a meeting with desk officers from line ministries.

Momoh said the projects were being funded under the social services infrastructure of the NG-CARES Programme, which the agency is implementing.

According to the general manager, nineteen communities and one vulnerable group have been funded for different projects that would cushion their conditions and increase their access to social services infrastructure.

The general manager further stated that the projects being funded across sectors included water, education, health, and sanitation based on community and group needs.

According to him, at least forty micro projects were expected to be completed and put in use in the next two months when the World Bank Independent Verification Agent (IVA) would be in the state.

The general manager expressed confidence in the competence of the desk officers and assurance of the agency’s support and conducive working environment.

Momoh reiterated that the project would positively impact the lives of the people, as at least thirty thousand persons would benefit from the projects.
