In a seismic legal decision today, the eagerly anticipated “Talk to the Voters Weekend Webinar Series With The Big Three Of The Edo Gubernatorial Race” scheduled to commence on July 5th, 2024, has been abruptly canceled following today’s nullification of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election in Edo State. Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja invalidated the primary, citing the unlawful exclusion of 378 delegates entitled to vote.

The Edo Generation X Movement, in collaboration with Naija Watch Media and Rescue Edo Movement, had organized the webinar featuring Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All-Progressive Congress, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata of the Labour Party, and the now-disgraced PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo. Thousands of Edolites were eagerly anticipating insights into the candidates’ plans if elected in the September 2024 gubernatorial election. However, the organizers issued a statement announcing the cancellation in compliance with the court’s ruling.

The organizers stated, “Due to the nullification of the PDP’s gubernatorial primary election process, the webinar scheduled for July 5th, 2024, is hereby cancelled. We respect the rule of law and will inform participants about the replacement for the PDP slot and the revised date for the ‘Talk to the Voters’ Webinar Series.”

As the fallout from today’s court ruling reverberates across Edo State, Asue Ighodalo finds himself at the center of a storm of disgrace. His once-shaky reputation, marred by allegations of corruption alongside his mentor Obaseki and forgery scandals, now lies in ruins.

Edolites, galvanized by the court’s decision, are proclaiming this as the final nail in Ighodalo’s political coffin. Many argue vehemently that his desperate bid for Edo’s governorship, despite having nothing substantive to offer if elected, has sealed his fate. They claim his relentless pursuit of power is now unraveling spectacularly, leaving behind a legacy of opportunism and deceit.

Stay tuned as more drama is expected to unfold in the countdown to the Edo election.
