The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has urged President Bola Tinubu to be mindful of those who have a history of working for the opposition but now work in his administration.

The group stated this while challenging Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who is the special adviser (Political) in the Vice President’s Office, to openly voice his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prove his loyalty to the governing party.

In a statement issued by the NSCF spokesperson, Comrade Daniel Yakubu, it alleged that Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has a history of working for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whose ideals are at variance with that of Tinubu.

The NSCF called upon Baba Ahmed to take action to demonstrate his commitment to the APC and clarify his position within the political landscape.

The NSCF demanded an immediate investigation into Baba-Ahmed’s activities within the Vice President’s office to ascertain if he is indeed working against the government of President Bola Tinubu.

Yakubu said: “President Tinubu must remain vigilant and cautious in his dealings with individuals who have a history of working against his interests. It is important for him to remember that Hakeem Baba-Ahmed was actively involved in the Peoples Democratic Party and has worked against his 2023 election victory.

The group urged the APC leadership to take swift action against any government appointee found guilty of sabotaging the party’s efforts towards achieving its goals.

NSCF also called on Northern leaders to be vigilant and watchful of individuals who may be working against the interests of the region, particularly those with a history for double standards.

He added, “It is vital for President Tinubu to exercise caution and discernment in his dealings with individuals who may have ulterior motives. By remaining vigilant and informed, he can protect his interests and ensure the success of his upcoming election campaigns.

“The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his government in their efforts towards building a better Nigeria for all citizens.”
