Serie A club Lazio has officially announced the loan acquisition of Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru from Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor.

Lazio confirmed the loan agreement on Saturday via their website.

Dele-Bashiru has gone to Lazio on a loan deal with the option to buy if specific sports conditions are met.

According to reports earlier this week, Lazio paid a €2 million fee to secure the loan and will have to pay another €4 million to make the transaction permanent.

On July 6, 2023, it was revealed that he had signed a three-year contract with Turkish club Hatayspor.

He scored eight goals in his first Süper Lig season, ending as the club’s joint-leading scorer with Carlos Strandberg, including a critical goal on the final matchday in a 2-0 win over Rizespor, which ensured his club’s survival in the top division.

He was called up to the Nigeria national team in October 2023 and scored on his debut in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against South Africa, which ended 1-1 at Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Lazio has won the Coppa Italia seven times, the Supercoppa Italiana three times, and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and Super Cup once each.
