Nigerian highlife band, Cavemen, and music duo, Show Dem Camp, have joined forces for a new collaborative album titled “No Love In Lagos“.

The project is set for release on August 9, 2024. It also marks Cavemen’s return since their last full-length album, “ROOTS,” in 2020.

Cavemen is a sibling duo composed of bassist Kingsley Okorie and drummer Benjamin James. Their signature sound is highlife mixed with alternative music.

The siblings, hailing from Imo State, have won multiple awards together, including the Headies Award for Best Alternative Album for their album, “ROOTS.”

In addition, they also released an 18-track album, “Love and Highlife,” in 2021. They have five songs with over a million streams each on Spotify.

Meanwhile, Show Dem Camp features rappers Wale Davies (Tec) and Olumide Ayeni (Ghost), who have built a loyal fan base. They have received nominations at the Headies Awards for Best Rap Single and Best Rap Album, but they unfortunately lost.

Additionally, the two rappers started in the music industry as solo artistes before they met at a rap battle. Interestingly, they both shared the same stage name, “Golden Child,” without prior knowledge of each other.

They discovered their musical chemistry and became a duo, going on to release hit songs like “Tropicana,” “Too Bad,” and “Tales By Moonlight.”

They have collaborated with big names in the industry such as Burna Boy, Tems, Oxlade, Victony, and Ladipoe.

It seems that the upcoming album, “No Love In Lagos,” will explore the complex themes of love, dating, and relationships in the city of Lagos.

They announced their joint album via social media with the caption, “’NO LOVE IN LAGOS’. Another album for the cavy people with our brothers @showdemcamp x @iamnsikak_”

Fans can pre-save the album now via the artists’ official streaming platforms.
